New Duran Duran Album Incoming

Legendary Brummie new romantic superstars Duran Duran are planning to release a brand new album later this year, the first with the band’s original classic line up since ‘Seven & the Ragged Tiger’.
Following a series of US and UK dates that sold out within minutes of going on sale, the original line up of Andy Taylor, Simon LeBon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor are getting together to make a new album.
The record (the first by the original line up since ‘Seven & the Ragged Tiger’ in 1983) is being recorded by producers, Rich Harrison (Usher, Alicia Keys) and Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne) at Sphere Studios in London, and things all seem to be going well.
""When we decided to reunite, the first thing we
did was head to France to test our chemistry. It became really clear that the magic was still there," Duran lead singer Simon LeBon explained to Billboard, "Since then, playing together live has cemented it. We've really rediscovered an incredible musical relationship. It's very similar to how it worked 20 years ago. Everybody's a little bit more open to how they feel about stuff,"
"We're like any people who get very close. Sometimes you argue with each other. But the fact is we inspire each other musically. Nobody else does it for me. It's just very special."
According to Le Bon the band is aware of their history and don’t want to simply copy their old style, but are also conscious not to move to far from their roots.
"I don't think it would work if we tried to repeat that," he explains, "[But] we wouldn't want to lose them by trying too hard to connect with a new audience."
Songs expected to be featured include ‘What Happens Tomorrow’, ‘Sunrise’, ‘Still Breathing’ and ‘Bedroom Toys’. The album will also feature a bonus DVD including live footage shot over two nights at London's Wembley Arena last spring and exclusive behind-the-scenes video.
