Metallica Play Download Festival

Metal behemoths Metallica and Machine Head have both confirmed they will be appearing at both legs of this year's two headed Download Festivals at Donnington Park in Leicestershire and in Glasgow.

Metallica and Machine Head are the first two bands to have confirmed their attendance at the two shows which take place on Saturday June 5 and 6 at Donnington and in Glasgow on June 2 and 3.
 
Other acts are due to be announced by the organisers this Wednesday (January 28). Tickets for the event are also expected to go on sale to the public on the same date.

As yet there are no details where in Glasgow the festival will take place.

The two shows are also the only confirmed UK concerts on Metallica's upcoming European tour.
