In the legendary Rich List published by top US finance publication Forbes, of the current generation of musicians only Metallica make an impression on a league totally dominated by the older generation of acts including The Rolling Stones, The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.

Forbes magazine's annual list of the one hundred most powerful figures in the entertainment world, includes only a handful of bands this year with Rolling Stones at number 5 with an estimated income last year of $51 million, Beyonce Knowles at 19 ($23 million) and The Eagles at 21 ($43 million).

However, grandly announcing themselves as truly arriving in the ranks of the mega powerful are Metallica, who made $35 million last year to enter the charts for the first time at number 27.
