Metal Legends Black Sabbath To Reform

Heavy metal legends Black Sabbath are set to reform for the first time since 2001 for the US touring rock festival Ozzfest. However, while the band will feature original singer Ozzy Osbourne, the band’s drummer has been replaced.
The group last played together in 2001 and have revealed they will be taking the stage to play with their frontman Ozzfest headliner Ozzy Osbourne for the 26-date touring rock festival that kicks off in the US in July
Osbourne will be joined by original members guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, but original drummer Bill Ward will be replaced by former Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin, much to Ward’s regret.
"This morning I received the very sad news that Mike Bordin is to play drums with Black Sabbath on Ozzfest '04." Ward wrote in a statement, "Last week I did receive a proposal which allowed no room for negotiation... What I did not put in my response was this: I'm willing to be flexible, I'm willing to compromise, I'm willing to negotiate, I'm willing to play".
"I've walked down this street before when Sabbath did the first reunion without me... I'm not being the bad guy here. I'm not trying to hold anyone to ransom. And I'm not trying to reverse my decision to decline in hope of a positive managerial response to this letter".
"I'm ready, willing and able to rock. There are some details on the proposal that don't work for me. I guess it's a case of the importance of things on both sides and I think that's all I can say for now."
"Black Sabbath is, and always will be an important priority in my life. I support Geezer's, Tony's and Ozzy's decisions to move ahead into Ozzfest '04 without me".
The Ozzfest line up also features (four-fifths of) the original Judas Priest, Slayer, Superjoint Ritual, Hatebreed, Slipknot and Lamb Of God.
As usual there are rumours that the event will come to the UK in some form, but there have been no official confirmations as yet.
