Mclusky
The three Mclusky guys claim to get inspiration from simply "playing f***ing music". Fair enough. Punk is not a word they like, but this bizarre mix of sunshine, thunder and madness certainly conjures up images of bike chains and nose studs.
Mclusky 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Jon Chapple and Andy Falkous formed McClusky in 1998 whilst working at a call-centre in Cardiff joining forces with drummer Jack Egglestone in 2003. Now on their third album - the Steve Albini produced 'The Difference Between You And Me Is That I'm Not On Fire' - they've established a reputation as the UK's premiere eccentric nosecore act.
‘She Will Only Bring You Happiness’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] with its light bouncy melodies and happily synchronised harmonies make for an interesting contrast to the dark, aggressive spoken word vocals on the cheekily ominous ‘Dave, Stop Killing Prostitutes’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] .
The session ends with the squalling, razor-spitting guitars of ‘The Gift Of Sight’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband].
