Kings of Convenience

Erlend and Eirik are the Kings of Convenience, because two guys with two guitars is really a rather convenient combination. The kings are now back in the UK with a new album on the way - they recently visited the Xfm studio to play an exclusive live session.
A former climber/karate enthusiast with a Psychology degree making music with a restless dance musician - it does sound like a strange combination - and one that's far from convenient. From the remainder of Norwegian band Skog, the odd pair formed their own band in 2001 after discovering that Eirik (the karate kid) could actually sing. With ingenious album titles like 'Quiet Is The New Loud' and 'Riot On An Empty Street' (out June 21) their soft guitar melodies and poetic lyrics create an appealing musical package.
‘Love Is No Big Truth’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] , starts the session with soft bossanova guitar, after which ‘Cayman Islands’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] and ‘Know How’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] are both delicate displays of floating acoustic harmonies.
