Jet Forced To Pull Out Of V2004

Aussie rockers Jet have announced they have been forced to pull out of this weekend’s UK festival appearance at V2004 due to unforeseen circumstances. It has emerged that the father of the band’s brothers Nic and Chris Cester has died.
A statement from the festival organisers reads:
“Regrettably, Jet will no longer be performing at the V Festival this weekend. Sadly, Mr John Cester, father of Jet's Nic And Chris Cester, died earlier this week. Therefore, the difficult decision has been reached to cancel the band's performance on the NME stage at this year's V Festival.
“Jet’s management request that at this dreadfully difficult time that the privacy of Nic and Chris, and their family and friends is respected.
“Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy extends to Nic, Chris and the Cester family,” says Denis Desmond, V Festival organiser. “It is regrettable that Jet will not be appearing but we and their fans will completely understand their decision.”
V Festival have also confirmed that there will be no replacement for Jet.
The festival will take place this weekend (August 21-22) with headline slots from The Strokes, Dido and the Pixies. Muse will join Dido on the main stage saying they’re “committed” to keeping their festival commitments despite an injury to bassist Chris Wolstenholme.
As previously reported on Xfm Online, Wolstenholme injured himself while on the road in the US, forcing the group to return early from the Curiosa festival. Currently, Streets bassplayer Morgan Nicholls is reported to be the man on standby to replace Wolstenholme though an official decision is yet to be made.
