James Brown Charged But Out Of Jail

Having been arrested for allegedly pushing his wife over during an argument, James Brown was released from jail yesterday but faces charges for criminal domestic violence and a possible spell in jail.
As previous reported, Brown allegedly shoved over his wife Tomi Rae Brown during an argument, and was arrested last Wednesday (January 28). The singer was released yesterday (without having to pay bail) but if he’s convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of a $500 fine and 30 days in jail.
Speaking to police on a 911 call during the argument, Tomi Rae explained she needed an ambulance, saying,
"My husband just, me and him got in a fight, and he decided he wanted to pick up some things and throw them around. And I got in the way and he threw me down to the ground," she said. "He held an iron chair over me."
Upon leaving the jail (wearing a red and black pinstriped suit and a black cowboy hat) The Godfather Of Soul commented, "The main thing is I would never hurt my wife and beat up on her like that. I love her very much."
Brown's attorney Jim Huff has stated his client denies the charges and asked to have the case heard by a jury.
Brown is scheduled to play a series of concerts in Australia this April. Tour promoter Aldo Lennard has stated that they would go ahead as planned, saying "It's 100 per cent still on, there is no suggestion that the tour isn't proceeding."
So James Brown’s rumoured Glastonbury Festival appearance may still take place.
