I Am In The Infirmary - Morrissey Ill

Morrissey has been forced to cancel a string of US television appearances due to ill health, the strain of his recent promotional duties and a recent bout of meningitis. A statement claims all the former Smiths singer’s current appearances have been cancelled.
Morrissey was booked to play a five night residency on the prestigious US chat show, ‘The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn’ on CBS this week, reports Reuters.
However the shows fell through, with Morrissey cancelling Monday’s (May 24) set and a representative for his US label Sanctuary Records releasing a statement explaining that he wouldn’t be appearing on any of the shows.
"Morrissey has regretfully had to cancel his appearance on the 'Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn' this week," it reads.
"He has been involved in an exhaustive global promotion campaign for 'You Are The Quarry' the past several months. Unfortunately the strain of his schedule and a recent bout with meningitis resulted in his doctor insisting that he cancel all current appearances. He remains very appreciative of Craig's continued support as well as the support of his fans."
It is not known whether Morrissey’s illness will affect his next upcoming show at the Dublin Castle in Los Angeles on June 5.
Morrissey's next single release is to be ‘The First Of The Gang To Die’ which is expected sometime in July.
