Shaun Ryder’s Manc legends, The Happy Mondays are reforming for a one off performance at a festival taking place on Clapham Common in London in August alongside New Order’s Peter Hook, Clint Boon from The Inspiral Carpets and a whole bunch of other people that really should know better.

The aptly titled Get Loaded In The Park event takes on Clapham Common on August 22 and includes the first gig from The Happy Mondays since 2000 along with guest DJs including Arthur Baker, New Order’s Peter Hook, Clint Boon from The Inspiral Carpets, Mike Pickering and Graeme Park from legendary Manchester club The Hacienda (and the less legendary band M People) alongside Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke from The Smiths.

Also featured are numerous up and coming bands on the ‘The I Swear I Was There Stage’ including The Cribs, The Ludes, Art Brut, The Stabilsers, Lysakoski, Dwarf Orgy, Devil
And Miss Jones
, Jism, Headland, The Violets and The Dukes.

Happy Monday’s ‘groove controller’ Bez's new band Domino Bones will also be making their UK live debut while Bez and Shaun Ryder will perform a DJ set.

"For me this is about putting something back in," explained Ryder in a statement. "I’ve been working with Get Loaded and Kav [promoter] for some time now and when the lads came up with the idea and said we’d be pushing loads of new bands as well, it just seem only right to be involved. I’m not dealing with corporates here, I’m dealing with a group of lads who just wanna make something happen!"

More acts are expected to be announced shortly.

Tickets are available now priced £15 and available now For more information check out www.getloadedinthepark.com.
