Franz Ferdinand Lead Q Award Nominations

Scots fourpiece Franz Ferdinand dominate the list of nominations for Q magazine’s annual music awards.

Elsewhere, the post-Biblical space-rock of Muse, the camp cabaret of Scissor Sisters and Mike Skinners’ Streets have all received three nominations each. Kelis, Keane, Morrissey, Maroon 5, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Outkast also notch up a respectable two nominations.

The award winners will be announced on October 4 at the new location of the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.

Nominated for the Best Act In The World Today award Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Radiohead, U2, Coldplay and Outkast. Can Radiohead set a new record by walking away with the award for the fourth year? The proud recipients last year, in 2002 and 2001 and currently share the hat-trick record with R.E.M. who were honoured in 1991, 1994, 1995.
