FOW certainly know how to knock out the sparkling pop-rock. The four boys from NYC do catchy, up-beat and sun soaked like no-one else. They're great storytellers, encompassing the tedium of work, hangovers, mowing the lawn and love. Every song is packed with enough melody and energy to firmly embed itself in your head for days, three-minute pieces of pop perfection referencing the trials and tribulations of everyday life. The West Coast, Californian Beach Boys vibe only adding to the charm.

After the power-pop of first single ‘Stacy's Mom’ comes the acoustic stylings of ‘Hackensack’ and ‘Valley Winter Song’. For trashy guitar rock look no further than ‘Little Red Light’ and ‘Bought For A Song’. ‘Peace And Love’ brings back the sound of the psychedelic 60's - ‘Riding around in a Volkswagen van, thinking bout the people upside down in Japan, staring at the stars in a distant galaxy, wondering if there’s someone out there staring back at me’. The harmonica gets whipped out on ‘Hey Julie’ and country chant ‘Hung Up On You’, showcases the talents of pedal steel wizard Robert Randolph. Think sunny beaches, sunsets and high school proms and you’re already there.
