Foo Fighters Double Up For New Release

Dave Grohl has been talking about the new Foo Fighters album and has revealed that it may be a double album. He also talks about his collaboration with Trent Reznor on the new Nine Inch Nails album.

According to a new interview with frontman Dave Grohl, the Foo Fighters have decided to move away from Grohl’s basement (where they recorded their previous albums) and have started to build their own recording studio in Los Angeles.

The band’s last album 2002's ‘One By One’ has sold an amazing 1.1 million copies in the United States so far, but it seems the Foos will be even more ambitious with their new record which may be a double album, and will tap into the vast amount of acoustic material that the band has written but never recorded.

"I think it's going to be a two-record set," Grohl explained to Billboard, "It's going to be ten acoustic songs and then ten tracks that are just koo-koo, really heavy."

As previously reported by Xfm Online, Grohl is also drumming on the new album by Nine Inch Nails. Apparently NIN frontman Trent Reznor called to ask if he’d appear on the record and the pair went into the studio the next day.

"It sounds incredible," Grohl explains, "It is [Trent's] first [studio] album in five years. I looked at him and said, 'What have you been doing?'"
