Delays To Headline Xfm Remix Xmas Bash

added 02 December 2004 at 14.03

Eddy Temple-Morris and The Remix have, once again, confirmed an all-star line-up for this month’s Christmas bash with Delays heading-up the bill that will also include Chikinki and the man himself behind the decks.

Following last year’s ‘A to Z of DJs’ (everyone from Soulwax to Coldcut spinning a single record back-to-back), The Remix have organised what is sure to be another festive belter. With their second album on the way, Southampton four-piece Delays will be the night’s special guests playing exclusively on December 16 in the intimate surroundings of East London club Cargo.

Also in attendance will be electro-rockers Chikinki (the band stormed Remix night with Kasabian earlier this year), bootleg extraordinaire Lionel Vinyl (the only man to make Girls Aloud sound half-way listenable) and, of course, resident remixer Eddy Temple-Morris.

Speaking about the night, Eddy said, “I knew we had to pull all the stops out for this night, after setting the bar so high last year, so getting my favourite up-and-coming band in the world ain't bad!

“I'm so happy Delays are on board, they're one of only three bands ever to make me involuntarily cry at a gig (Page & Plant and The Verve before you ask) when they played the New Band's tent at Glasto this year.

“Just pure perfection – They are the most under-rated, under-valued, under-sold band in the UK”

And with a recommendation like that, how can you argue?  Tickets will cost you just £10.00 in advance and are available from the Xfm Xchange on 0870 222 1049. £1 from each ticket will go directly to the charity Shelter. Highlights from the night will also be broadcast on The Remix on Sunday December 19 from 6pm on 104.9 Xfm.

Cargo will be opening its doors at 7pm with bands and DJs on until 1am. Cargo is at 83 Rivington Street, Shoreditch, London, EC2.
