David Bowie Blinded By Lollipop

David Bowie was forced to halt a concert in Oslo when a member of the audience hurled a lollipop at him halfway thorough his set. The rouge confectionary reportedly his Bowie directly in the eye, temporarily blinding him.
The gig on Saturday (19 June) was already blighted by extreme storms, with Bowie being forced to wear a bright yellow cagoule onstage.
20 minutes into the gig, a member of the audience threw a lollipop at the singer, which (according to The Sun) hit him directly in the eye. Bowie then “winced in agony as the stick shot between his left eyeball and its lid” halting the gig, before a roadie removed the offending piece of confectionary.
The Sun quotes one fan as saying, "He [Bowie] grabbed a mike and called the person responsible a coward and b*****d for hiding in the crowd. Everyone booed as the concert was stopped."
However a statement on Bowie’s official website claims a different story altogether, saying,
“I'm sure there was no malice intended, but yesterday's incident could have been far more serious than it was. However, in typical Bowie fashion, and despite his understandable initial anger, David made light of the incident when he threw a plectrum into the crowd and then said he would have to go and hide in the band as he thought he may have got somebody in the eye.”
David Bowie plays the T In The Park festival near Glasgow in Scotland on July 10, and the Oxegen Festival, County Kildare, Ireland on July 11.
