Catch Up With Gomez

added 04 March 2004 at 14.40

Gomez came by Music:Response to hit us with their harmonic folk/jazz experimentalism. They also had a chat with Ian Camfield about their self-financed, self-organised US tour. Hear the session and interview here.

Having spent the winter hidden away in the middle of an industrial estate - 'That’s where the magic happens’ - Gomez are back with their fourth album. 'Split The Difference'.

Due at the end of May, the fivesome's latest release was put together in a studio in Portslade, just outside Brighton with help from producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Crowded House).

The Southport five-piece came by Music: Response last night to play live and talk with Ian Camfield. Check the interview out here: [listen]

Gomez ‘Catch Me Up’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Current single drops the Gomez sound we’ve all  become accustomed to for a more instantly appealing, neatly packaged piece of charismatic indie rock. Proving that they can still do the lively, spontaneous and light-hearted thing.

Gomez ‘Fill My Cup’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Gravelly Tom Gray has his turn on vocals, going off on a fantastical flight of spellbinding dreams taken from second album 'Liquid Skin'.
