Lamb On On The Lam - Tour Cancelled

added 15 September 2003 at 11.21

Mellow electro tunesmiths Lamb have announced the cancellation of their upcoming UK tour in support of their new album 'Between Darkness and Wonder' due to an unexpected injury

The group have been forced to postpone the six date jaunt as their drummer Nikolaj Bjerre (Nicky Butter?) has seriously twisted his wrist. The dates are expected to be rescheduled in January next year, though the replacement dates have not yet been announced.

A message from bandmembers Louise Rhodes and Andy Barlow on the band’s website, www.lambstar.net  explains,

“Due to a recent injury to our drummer Nikolaj we're sad to announce the last minute postponement of our forthcoming UK tour.... We're incredibly sorry for any inconvenience caused to all our fans and would like to sincerely apologize to all those who have bought tickets and spent money preparing to come to any of the shows...

”We've been told that all tickets are valid for the new dates and hope to make an announcement about them later today or tomorrow.

”We'd like you all to know that we've waited until the very last minute to make the announcement in case Nikolaj felt any better and was able to perform... He's badly twisted his wrist and is unable to play the drums for any duration of time...

”This is the second occasion that fate has conspired against us in the UK, so deep & sincere apologies to all UK fans affected again.....

”With genuine sorrow, LAMB”

The cancelled date in full are:

  • Brighton, The Corn Exchange (November 3)
  • Bristol, Carling Academy (4)
  • London, Hammersmith Apollo (7)
  • Glasgow, Carling Academy (13)
