added 04 August 2003 at 15.52

After a one-year break from the public eye, Brighton's fresh-faced indie popsters Electric Soft Parade have announced details of a new single, new album and upcoming headlining UK tour.

Save a brief show at the Diesel U Music Awards last month, the duo of brothers Tom White and Alex White have been out of the spotlight busy putting the finishing touches to the follow up to their 2002 Mercury Music Prize nominated debut album 'Holes In The Wall'.

The new record is entitled  'The American Adventure' and comes out October 13 via BMG. It will be preceded by a new limited edition single titled 'Things I've Done Before' which comes out on 7" vinyl only on September 15, backed with another new song 'Summer Slow Meander'.

Alongside a gig at Somerset House supporting Ash, the band will also be undertaking a full UK tour including a special acoustic date at the The Enterprise, Chalk Farm in North London. The full tour dates are:

  • Somerset House (supporting Ash) (August 7)
  • The Enterprise, London (acoustic session) (September 9)
  • Manchester Roadhouse (10)
  • London 100 Club (11)
  • Cardiff Barfly (12)
  • Nottingham Rescue Rooms (13) E
  • York Fibbers/Barfly (14)
  • Glasgow Barfly (15)
  • Liverpool Barfly (16)
