With the awesome 'Light & Magic' album, Ladytron singlehandedly rescued electroclash from laughable irrelevence. Their amazing twelve months were crowned with the erection of their Stonehenge-like synths and Moogs at watershed London venue the Astoria for a triumphant live show last week.

'Seventeen' Live favourite and breakthrough single, this languid tale of feminine shelf-life bought the four-piece to wide attention late last year. 'They only want you when you're seventeen/When you're twenty-one/You're no fun'
'Oops' Guilessly sexy in the way that only Ladytron can be, the blatant raunch of 'there goes my shirt/there goes my head/there goes my skirt' is delivered with a strangely detatched urgency.
'Playgirl' One of the few sympathetic songs in the 'trons arsenal, this chronicles the attempts of party girls (and boys) to escape the banality of everyday life with rare compassion.
