Doves B-Side Themselves

added 15 August 2003 at 10.00

Mancunian purveyors of epic pop Doves will be releasing a new compilation album entitled 'Lost Sides' which will bring together B-sides and rarities from their four-year musical career.

The record draws together all the band's B-sides from their debut, 1998's 'Cedar EP', through the release of their 2000 breakthrough album 'Lost Souls' all the way up to last year's critically acclaimed 'The Last Broadcast'.

The collection also includes the track 'Hit The Ground Running', taken from the limited edition version of 'There Goes The Fear' which was deleted on the day of release.

Doves will also be releasing their long awaited DVD 'Where We Are Calling From'. The DVD will include the band playing live at the Eden Project in July 2002 (including 'Pounding', 'There Goes The Fear', 'Catch The Sun', 'Caught By The River', 'Here It Comes' and 'Spaceface') as well as a Doves (and Sub Sub) documentary, animated features, photo galleries and a film by longtime Doves collaborator Brian Madden called 'How Things Really Are'.

'Lost Sides' and 'Where We Are Calling From' are both released on Heavenly Records on September 29.

The full tracklisting of 'Lost Sides' is:

  • 'Break Me Gently' (Incidental)
  • 'Darker'
  • 'Your Shadow Lay Across My Life'
  • 'Meet Me At The Pier'
  • 'Down To The Sea'
  • 'Crunch'
