December 11 - Keane

Bearers of heartfelt bombastic torchsongs, Keane have a ready-made audience amongst the yearning and disenfranchised masses. Get in on the ground floor.

Keane 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]

'The New Coldplay' is a horrible burden to place upon anyone, but for once the shoe really does fit - Keane surely have a similar destiny waiting (Gwyneth Paltrow notwithstanding) to Chris Martin's mob thanks to their similar ability to write tunes that can pull off the neat trick of conveying heartfelt intimacy to millions and make the introspection of loneliness a mass pastime.

'Everybody's Changing' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] bleeds confidence from it's piano riffs and sibilant drums just as the lyrics shed pounds and ounces of confusion and uncertainty. 'Hard Row' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] sees vocalist Tom Chaplin once again successfully navigate the thin line of credibility between self-indulgence and self-pity - just finishing a song like this without the listener wanting to punch you in the face is a sterling achievement in itself.

Finally, 'Somewhere Only We Know' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] is as beautifully evocative as its title. A-list Hollywood actresses should clear their diaries now.
