Kings Of Leon Laud The Strokes As ‘Biggest Influence’

Tennessee tykes Kings Of Leon label The Strokes as one of their biggest influences in their latest Xfm Residency, while also finding time for the UK’s ‘most underrated band’.
Two of the Followill clan in Matthew and Jared dropped by the Xfm studio last night (October 13) for their second stint spinning the disks on the band’s very own Xfm Residency.
As well as rare Queens Of The Stone Age track ‘In The Fade’, the Kings made way for classic Strokes tune ‘Hard To Explain’.
They uttered: “Next up is one of our favourite bands, The Strokes. They were possibly one of the biggest influences of our band when we starting out and decided to make a band. They’re good friends of ours.”
Tagging The Cribs as “the UK’s most underrated band of the 2000s”, the late Grandaddy, The National and Q Lazzarus ‘Goodbye Horses’ (as featured in The Silence Of The Lambs) too featured on the playlist.
Speaking of Q Lazzarus, they said: “This is pretty fitting for October and Halloween, which is a scary day for all of us… I can never tell if Q Lazzarus is the band’s name or the girl’s name. It’s a girl singing, but sounds like a guy from the 80s, like Rick Astley.”
