How can I listen to Xfm?
In London on 104.9FM,
In Manchester on 97.7 FM,
Sky Channel 113,
NTL Channel 891,
Telewest Channel 965,
Digital Radio,
Using an iPod Touch or iPhone and a wi-fi connection,
Online - click on the 'listen live' link at the top of any page in the site.

Important News For Digital Radio Listeners!
We've made some changes to the way Xfm is transmitted on digital radio in London.  As a result of these changes you may have to perform an 'autotune' or 'rescan' on your digital radio to ensure that you continue to receive Xfm. If you don’t know how to do this, please consult the instruction manual that came with your radio.

Listening via iPod Touch/iPhone
In January 2008 we launched a service allowing users to stream Xfm onto their iPod/iPhone. You'll need a wi-fi connection too. Visit www.musicradio.com using one of these devices for more detail. How do I 'go back'?

How do I email a DJ?
Click the 'on air' link at the top of the page, click on the DJ you wish to email - the email address should be at the top of a DJ's individual page.

How can I listen to audio clips or watch video on the site?
If you are having trouble viewing our live video streams or hearing the audio feed, there is likely to be a simple solution to the problem. The most common problem is that your computer does not have the correct software installed. All the software required is completely free, and generally installed on most modern home PCs by default. There's a list of links to the relevant software below.

The software you need:
Operating System:
Windows 98 or superior.
Mac OS 9 or OS X.

Browser:
Internet Explorer version 6.x or 7.x.
Firefox 1.x or 2.x
Opera 9.x
Safari 3.x

Required Browser Plug-ins for Windows Users:
Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher,
Adobe Flash 8 or superior.

Required Browser Plug-ins for Mac Users:
Quicktime,
flip4mac,
Adobe Flash 8.

Support for Microsoft Windows Media Player on a Mac platform was discontinued n January 2006. But Mac users can access the audio video content on xfm.co.uk with Quicktime and the flip4mac plug-in which is endorsed by Microsoft.

Do we offer other streaming formats?
At present, no. This is because we have to encode all of our streamed content for every format and every quality level, and it's a lot of work. We have opted to offer streams that the majority of users will be able to enjoy, though we are constantly reviewing this situation.

The hardware you need:
This minimum specification refers to the 'power' of the computer, as well as having an installed and working, modem or other internet connection, soundcard and speakers. We recommend the following as a minimum specification:- 166MHz processor or higher 16-bit soundcard Speakers (connected!). Your internet connection should be at least 56.6kb/s
