Carl Barat: I’ll Be Back

added 07 October 2008 at 16.23

Carl Barat has spoken for the first time since announcing the split of Dirty Pretty Things last week (October 1), admitting he could be back in a flash.

Although he has no current plans, Barat told NME he will continue to write music following Dirty Pretty Things final runaround of the UK this month.

Barat said: “I’ve got no regrets. It’s liberating… I’m looking forward to getting back in touch with my guitar, not running in circles. I’ll carry on writing.

“If I think what I’m writing is something I want to play to the world, I’ll do it. It could be five minutes (before I return to the music scene). I’ve got quite a short attention span.

“Having said that, I might change careers and become a bank robber.”

What do you think Carl Barat should do next? Reform The Libertines with Pete? Journey off to the Carribean never to return? Join old friend Johnny Borrell in Razorlight? Let us know below…
