Rascals Biography
Influenced by the moody, mercurial, and mysterious Scott Walker, and their hometown's own exciting musical pedigree, Liverpool/Wirral's Rascals formed in September 2006. Members Miles Kane (guitars), Joe Edwards (bass), and Greg Mighall (drums) had paid their dues as members of the band Little Flames, but were finding themselves at odds with the band's direction and decided to make a go of it on their own. Having befriended the rather ‘on-fire' Arctic Monkeys whilst touring with them as part of the Little Flames, the Rascals landed their first gig as support for the Sheffield combo in Cardiff. The band soon found themselves in possession of a record deal — with Deltasonic — in 2007, and released their first EP, Out of Dreams, in December of that year. With an EP and a UK tour under their belts, the Rascals spent the early part of 2008 recording their debut full length, which was to be released in June. In addition to a full recording schedule, the Rascals were also set for a UK tour in the early summer of 2008, and a Japanese jaunt to play the Fuji Rock Festival in July. A preview of the album, the single "Suspicious Wit," was released in February of what was to be a busy '08. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
