The Killers Back In Studio Next Week

added 11 May 2011 at 10.45

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci has told Xfm they'll be working on new material from next Tuesday....

Speaking to Xfm's Steve Harris on The O2 Evening Show Vannucci said - despite his new solo project Big Talk - The Killers are about to begin work on a new album.

"Tuesday I think we start doing some writing again. We have piles of songs we want to show each other. We're going to get back in that room and start writing."

But despite the impending reunion Ronnie told Xfm he still intends to tour with his solo project Big Talk in between recording sessions.

He made the record in The Killers' Battle Born Studios and told Steve he took inspiration from his Killers bandmate.

"When we started The Killers Brandon in particular was really new at the whole game - he hadn't really been singing long either," he said.

"Having to lay vocals down or write lyrics I really would remember how he would do it. He would always just be so fearless and didn't give a s**t about whatever and would just really put it out on the line and I really admire that from him."

He continued, "If you really want to do this you've got to step up to the plate and really give it a shot otherwise you're just wasting your time."
