Xfm Meets The Ting Tings

After their meteoric rise to fame The Ting Tings reflect on their new album, 'We Started Nothing', and its distinctive style, telling us what's next.

Their debut - from which the hugely successful 'Great DJ' whetted our appetites - was released on March 12 Jules De Martino and Katie White - for they are indeed The Ting Tings - discuss its merits.

What's the new album like?

"When we wrote the album we wanted every song to be a single so we wrote really catchy songs..." [Listen To Full Answer]

It's been a pretty meteoric rise for you. How are you taking it all in?

"It's getting to the point where we dont really know what day it is, our manager says it's gonna get bigger..." [Listen To Full Answer]

You recently played the Xfm New Music Awards. How do you prepare yourselves for a show of that magnitude?

"I have to get nervous, if I don't get nervous I haven't got that edge..." [Listen To Full Answer]

How did you guys get together?

"We'd been through a bit of a hard time in another band and then we just wrote a couple of songs together..." [Listen To Full Answer]

Your music has across the board appeal. Where do you think that comes from?

"When Katie was younger she listened to mostly pop while I was more of a songsmith sort of a person..." [Listen To Full Answer]

What was it like touring with The Cribs?

"No matter how different the music is, you don't hold it against a band because..." [Listen To Full Answer]

Do you feel frustrated that music sometimes seems to be given away for free?

"I think music is never given away for free. People write on your myspace saying they think you're brilliant..." [Listen To Full Answer]

Is there anyone you're looking forward to seeing at the NME Awards tonight?

"It'd be good to see The Cribs coz we've just toured with them. I didn't know any of their songs before..." [Listen To Full Answer]
