Ian Brown On 'The World Is Yours'

added 20 September 2007 at 11.42

One of the country's most popular artists returns with a brilliant new album and he spoke exclusively to John Kennedy all about it.

Following the release of his greatest hits collection 'The Greatest' in 2005 Ian Brown has become an even more important force and individual voice in British music.

A year later he was given the Godlike Genius award by the NME and has been outspoken and heartfelt about the state of British politics and the war in Iraq. All this has been channelled into his long awaited new 'The World Is Yours', his most lyric heavy and musically experimental album yet.

Speaking to John Kennedy, Ian describes working with his brilliant producers Black Ops, travelling around Brazil and how giving up weed for the recording of the album gave his music new focus. [listen]
