The Vacation

Urgent LA four-piece The Vacation channel the spirit of their hometown through frenetic fretwork, frantic drumming and pummelling bass.
The Vacation 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
Ever since twins Ben and Steve Tegel crash landed in LA a few years back, the gaudy urgency of the place has seemingly infected every note they play or sing. The twins and their rhythm section were recently introduced to these shores via some stunning festival appearances and the spiky 'They Were The Sons' EP, which they drew on for their Xfm Session. 'Make Up Your Mind' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] bleeds classic punk sneers from its jagged edges as it asks the hardest question of all with little of the usual delicacy and tact. 'No Hard Feelings' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] , meanwhile, is rife with the kind of disinterest that only the truly vital can make sound cool, as well as being one of those apologies it's kind of hard to trust; 'I've got no hard feelings, bitch'.
Finally, set closer 'White Noise' [Dial-Up] [Broadband] takes things down a notch to allow vocalist Ben to show there's more to him than raw, punk-throated growling.
