Good Shoes

Hotly-tipped London boys slip into their finest pair and provide a blistering debut session. Listen to it right here.
Good Shoes 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]
On their website the members of Good Shoes describe themselves as “a band, we consist of 4 members, Joel Cox, Rhys Jones, Steve Leach and Tom Jones. We play danceable, shed rehearsed guitar music. We like to dance, drink, draw, pretend to be on a mobile phone whilst we are not, write songs, dance. We are based in Morden.”
Raising the profile of unfashionable Morden, Good Shoes are a band exasperatingly young in both age of members and how long they’ve been playing together. They’ve already put together a set of catchy songs good enough to challenge the likes of The Futureheads and are certainly ones to keep watch on over the coming year.
‘Small Town Girl’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] sets the tone perfectly for this sharp, concise and tune filled session with the boys coming over like The Clash flirting with The Strokes. Funky basslines and short bursts of vocals form something truly original on ‘Nazanin’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] . The hearfelt ‘We Are Not The Same’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] recalls The Cure in their Boys Don’t Cry-era. Saving the best til last, the punky feelgood vibe of ‘All In My Head’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] closes things down , which surely will be a crowd-pleaser at festivals in 2006.
