Sheffield-based Mark Stoney certainly has talent. He writes, records, produces and plays nearly all the instruments on his recordings himself. His songs are brilliantly accomplished and he puts as much energy and effort into his distinctive live shows.
Packed with tunes that are multi-faceted and highly eclectic, his debut album is due out before the year's end. As well as producing his own material, Mark is working with a number of other new artists, nurturing their talents and developing their sound, under his Lacuna Productions guise.
An infusion of twisted beats, strong harmonies and haunting organ feature on session opener ‘Soap In The Bathtub’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] . The upbeat, jaunty rock of ‘Until You Leave’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] leads perfectly into the psychedelic electro and falsetto vocals of ‘Jailbird’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] - bringing this eclectic set to a close.
