Dinosaur Jr. Reform For Festival

Dinosaur Jr duo Lou Barlow and J. Mascis have confirmed this week they will reform to perform together for the first time in 15 years at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, while rumours of a UK appearance are rife.
While ongoing feuds have kept the pair apart for over a decade, the embattled duo of Mascis and Barlow have announced an appearance at this year’s Fuji Rock under the name Dinosaur Jr.
While no tour dates have been set, Lou Barlow’s UK label Domino (the home of Franz Ferdinand and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billie) have confirmed the reunion and the band’s name have been added to the festival’s website.
The reunion may be have been prompted by the reissue of the band’s hugely influential album ‘You're Living All Over Me’, set for release on March 21 remastered and featuring bonus tracks in ‘Deluxe Edition’ .
The band are also rumoured to make an appearance on the ‘indie rock’ Friday (June 10) of this year’s Download Festival, though currently this is purely speculation.
One of the most legendary indie acts of the ‘80s, Barlow left the band after the release of their third album ‘Bug’ to focus on his work with Sebadoh and later Folk Implosion. While the group continued Barlow-less for a period, the group permanently disbanded in 1997 with Mascis going on to form The Fog.
Other acts set to play Fuji Rock (if your wallet stretches to a trip to the Far East) include Aqualung, The Beach Boys, The Black Velvets, The Bravery, Cake, The Coral, Dresden Dolls, Fatboy Slim, The Go! Team, Juliette & the Licks featuring Juliette Lewis, Kaiser Chiefs, The Longcut, Mercury Rev, The Music, The Pogues and Sigur Ros.
