Libertine In Tumour Operation Scare

A tabloid newspaper has revealed today that Libertines frontman Carl Barat is to undergo surgery to remove a tumour that is behind his ear. One result of the operation is that Barat will not be allowed to listen to loud music until he recovers.
The Sun reports that the tumour is behind Barat’s ear with doctors insisting it be removed immediately. He will have to take at least two months off in order to return to full health.
A source told The Sun, "Fortunately it's not too serious health-wise - but Carl's definitely not had the best of luck. He's been booked into surgery later this month. The operation will remove the benign lump and Carl must rest up for a couple of months."
One of the reasons that Barat gave for splitting The Libertines late last year was, "An ongoing problem with my health, which requires an operation".
Carl Barat will be speaking to Xfm’s Ian Camfield tonight on Music:Response from 7pm on 104.9Xfm
