The Ludes: Never Had A Chance

South London bad boys The Ludes swaggered into Music:Response to play live and chat with Ian Camfield about working with Chris Kimsey and the Hells Angels' Bulldog Bash. Check it out here.
David and Matt were great friends at primary school but soon became rivals, playing in seperate secondary school bands. They were brought back together when they went to Camberwell College of Arts and formed The Ludes two years ago when they met up with James, Chris and Dom. The five-piece soon signed to Sony offshoot Double Dragon and toured with Electric Six and Franz Ferdinand.
It's been a year since their debut demo 'She Was Just A Girl' was released and now The Ludes are back bigger and better than ever, half way through their massive tour the boys came into Music:Response and chatted to Ian Camfield about working with Chris Kimsey and the Hells Angels Bulldog Bash, ('There was no security, well unless you count a battered old Escort with ‘security’ scrawled on the side of it') along with their club night ‘Ride 'Em And Booze’ and their pirate radio antics 'We haven't been busted yet, but we've had a few hairy moments'. [Dial-Up]
[Broadband]
A blues-driven melodic brand of old-time rock 'n' roll. Their name comes from a sixties drug slang-term and is the Czech word for 'crazy girl'.
The Ludes 'Radio'
[Dial-Up]
[Broadband]
The current single is up beat punk-rock with ska-beats, reggae roots and lyrics like “I heard the death of music on my radio”.
