X-clusive: QOTSA To Play Glastonbury?

In an exclusive interview with Xfm Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme discusses Glastonbury rumours, being thrown out of rehab and why they're the most "underground rock band" in the world today.
Ahead of their gig at London's Shepherds Bush Pavilion for MTV2 Gonzo's fifth anniversary, Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme and Troy Van Leeuwen took some time out to shoot the breeze with yours truly, Xfm.
Turning first to a potential Glastonbury slot Homme (in his best-and-most-official-and-formal-voice) responded:
"I can not confirm not deny that and actually I'm going to have to take off your hands." He then added, "Hypothetically I'd love to play it, but hypodermically? No."
"I just hope there's enough boats this time" Anastasio interjected, "for when it gets wet with all the mud and the lakes and stuff, for all the water skiing and surfing. You know, all the stuff they do at Glastonbury in the summer."
Whether or not they play it the Queens certainly intend to keep playing at some weird and wonderful places by continuing in the vein of 2007 which saw them play a gig in a German underground mine (amongst other bizarre venues).
"That was really unreal," Homme enthused. "We just finished this tour in The States of all these out of the way cities and strange places and we wanted to do the same in Germany but we were looking for something exotic, and exotic in Germany can be difficult.
"So we found this salt mine and we realised we'd be the most underground rock band ever."
"I heard some folk singer played a little deeper," he continued in a possible reference to Katie Melua's record breaking underwater gig, "but we just killed her. So now, who does crown go to? These big ol' Queens!"
Another unique Queens gig saw the saw the band thrown out of their own show. Then again perhaps kicking a gig off at a rehab centre with the infamous 'Feel Good Hit Of The Summer' - which begins with the lines ""Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstasy and alcohol...c-c-c-c-c-cocaine" - wasn't the smartest of moves?
"The thing is, is it really rehab if you're able to ride a horse on the beach? No look, it is and we wanted to do our part for recovery," he explained, "and one of the most important steps to recovery is not taking yourself too seriously.
"But there was this Nurse Ratched [from the novel 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'] type figure who was, what's the word? 'Bitch!' She was screaming "Merde! Merde!" and we were like 'Oh my gooooosh!'"
