U2 2005 Tour Officially Confirmed

Amidst rumours that have been circling for months, U2's manager Paul McGuinness has stated that band will definitely tour next year, but has warned fans not to buy tickets until the dates have all been officially confirmed.

In a statement on the band’s official website, McGuinness stated that the massively anticipated tour will take place in 2005, but warned fans off buying tickets off unofficial websites which claim to have details of the upcoming dates.

"We are still very much in the planning stages of our tour for next year which will visit the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, and the band is really looking forward to getting out on the road." McGuinness said in a message today.

"As soon as we have finalised the plans, the tour will be announced on U2.Com as usual and purchase instructions will be clearly available. Nothing is confirmed until the official tour announcement, no tickets will be on sale until after this time."

As previously reported, there are rumoured U2 shows taking place at Croke Park, Dublin on June 26, 27 and 28, London’s Twickenham Park on July 2 and the Stade De France in Paris in early July next year – but none have been officially confirmed.

U2 release their new album ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ on November 22 preceded by new single ‘Vertigo’ on November 8.
