The Streets New Video Banned

The video for the new single by The Streets, ‘Blinded By The Lights’ has been banned by numerous televisions stations, who claim its scenes of sex, drug taking and violence are all far too explicit for broadcast.

The promo shows Streets frontman Mike Skinner meeting his girlfriend at a wedding, where he drinks too much, takes a shedload of drugs, dances like a idiot, gets into a fight (becuase his girlfriend had sex with someone else in the toilets) and has the crap kicked out of him.

Now, The Sun has reported that numerous TV shows have decided that the video is totally unsuitable for broadcast. Top Of The Pops and CD:UK have claimed they may show only very short clips of the promo, and say it might only be possible for them to show a few seconds of the video at a time. It's been reported that MTV can only play the video after 11pm.

What’s more, it's reported that Radio 1 can't play the song on the breakfast show or during their afternoon drive time slot as that’s when its judged most children are listening.
