Gruesome Sex Pistols Poster Goes Public

A bloodstained poster that hung in the room where Nancy Spungen was allegedly killed by her boyfriend and Sex Pistol bassist Sid Vicious is to be displayed in a new exhibition in London.
The blood-spattered poster was taken from the room 100 of New York's Chelsea Hotel, where Vicious and his girlfriend Spungen were living in 1978. It’s not know whether the blood on the poster (which advertises the Pistols album ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’) was there as a direct consequence of Spungen's death.
Though never proven, many believe it was Vicious who inflicted the knife wounds that led to her death, but while charged with second-degree murder, the bassist died the following year, while out on bail, from a heroin overdose aged of 21.
The poster, alongside a collection of items belonging to the couple will be shown at The Hospital gallery in Covent Garden in London during September.
Also going on display will be original T-shirts, posters and
handwritten lyrics which have all been assembled over the past 15 years by art dealer Paul Stolper and Andrew Wilson, deputy editor of Art Monthly.
According to The Independent newspaper many of the items were sold at auction by Sid Vicious' mother, Anne Beverley.
