Lost Clash Tracks Surface For Album Reissue

A new reissue of the classic Clash album ‘London Calling’ is set to feature a selection of previously unreleased tracks from the band that were presumed lost for over 25 years since they were first recorded.
Over 20 tracks, now known collectively as the ‘The Vanilla Tapes’ were recently discovered by Clash co-frontman Mick Jones in his storage room. According to bassist Paul Simonon the songs - including ‘Working And Waiting’, ‘Heart And Mind’, ‘Canalside Walk’ and ‘Revolution Rock’ - come from a point in the band’s history when they were at their creative peak.
"At the time we were constantly moving forward and as soon as something was done we were onto the next thing,” he explained, “You can really hear us bouncing ideas around."
The new expanded triple CD version of ‘London Calling’ is released on September 21, marking the album's 25th anniversary.
Alongside the original album and demos is included a 45-minute Don Letts produced documentary including newly discovered footage of producer Guy Stevens and The Clash in the recording studio, previously unused live performance footage, interviews with the band members Jones, Simonon, drummer Topper Headon and Joe Strummer.
