The Hives on 'Tyrannosaurus Hives'

The Swedish punk-rock showmen are back! Nicholaus Arson and Vigilante Carlstroem talk us through the 'killing machine with a peanut brain' and you can hear it, in full, right here.
Since the kicked their way into our consciousness like a sharp-suited, two-tone, special forces unit it's become impossible to imagine how we ever got along without The Hives. Almost singlehandedly they put the showmanship back into live music and suddenly we were all looking at the stage again.
Bought to us via a conspiracy of three record labels, the success of 'Your New Favourite Band' led to legal wrangles over the tricky issue of who actually owned what and for a while it looked like The Hives might be gone for a while. But now they're back with the fearsome 'Tyrannosaurus Hives' album and Xfm has the full story, straight from the Hivemind.
'Abra Cadaver' & 'Two Timing Touch And Broken Bones'
"That's what we usually, in The Hives manner, refer to as a killer combo..."
[listen]
'Walk Idiot Walk'
"I think I more or less know that it's about putting the wrong people in the wrong place. Not as a mistake as such, but people in charge who shouldn't really be in charge of anything. It's an international problem."
[listen]
'No Pun Intended'
"I guess it's one of those songs where we wanted to sound like a punk band in a machine or something."
[listen]
'A Little More For Little You'
"This is one of those, maybe, more Noel Coward-ish songs that we have. It's about the problem of having someone not really acting true, more acting than truth. The false nature of modern man."
[listen]
'B Is For Brutus'
"Very briefly I can talk about lyrical content, which would include 'deceit'. Maybe a Brutus trademark, I guess."
[listen]
'See Through Head'
"We don't want to embrace all new technology, we want to embrace the kind of technology that we need in order to get our sound right."
[listen]
'Diabolic Scheme'
"It's more about our diabolic scheme. It's about returning from the dead. Which is pretty much what we're doing, I guess."
[listen]
'Missing Link'
"I think I'm gonna start off by saying thank you to the people who are applauding at home. This is great stuff."
[listen]
'Love In Plaster'
"If we were gonna do a song about love, it was gonna have to be dying love..."
[listen]
'Dead Quote Olympics'
"This song is about people who go to the library and read stuff and then put it in other people's faces. They just read stuff without understanding it and then try to explain it to people."
[listen]
'Antidote'
"We're pretty much The Hives again, talking about how good we are."
