Shape The X List 2004 Shortlist

It just wouldn't be summer without our annual mega-poll where you tell us your favourite music of all time. The most popular 104 songs will make up our shortlist which will be played out in full on August Bank Holiday. Vote now for the chance to win 104 Xfm gig tickets.
You voted in your thousands and after hours of collating the votes we can now reveal this year's shortlist. Check to see whether your suggestions made it into the final 104, see which bands dominate this year's shortlist then help us shape it by voting for your favourite shortlisted tracks.
Remember to include your daytime telephone number as we might give you a call and put you on air where you can tell us why you've picked those three songs and give you a spot prize for your efforts.
Voting closes at midnight on Friday August 27. This year's X List 2004 will be unveiled on Bank Holiday Monday, August 30, with all 104 songs being played out in their entirety.
Each e-mail vote received from now until August 27 will go into our prize draw where one lucky winner will bag 104 Xfm gig tickets and enjoy a year of live music (subject to availability, the allocation is valid from September 2004 - August 2005, maximum no. of tickets for each gig - 4). They'll also win a brand spanking new 20 gigabyte iPod which can store 5000 songs and a £100 gift certificate to spend on downloadable music in the iTunes store. The winner of the prize will be announced live on air on August 30 just before the no.1 song is revealed.
