Topping a power list compiled recently by the magazine Sharon was said to be "The real power behind the Prince of Darkness's throne. Even cancer knows not to mess with Sharon Osbourne."
Beating off stiff competition from everyone from Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins (4) to Chief Exec of media giants Clear Channel, Brian Becker, Osbourne has recently also expertly dealt with her husband's quad bike accident and the well-documented drug addictions of her children, Jack and Kelly.
Even beating Satan into second place, other entries went to filmmaker Michael Moore (6) and legendary producer Rick Rubin (5). Unbelievably, Avril Lavigne is apparently the tenth most important figure in rock today "for turning a new generation of pop fans into fans of all things loud and objectionable."
Rumours that Lavigne, Sum 41, Good Charlotte and Bowling For Soup fans clubbed together to vote for Lavigne to ensure a 'corporately-marketed-skate-punk-pap' act made the top ten are currently unconfirmed.
