Watch Nesbitt Sing

One of the Breakfast Show's finest friends and most supportive supporters James Nesbitt appears on our Euro 2004 anthem 'Born In England'. See and hear his spectacular attempt at recording his vocals here. Don't give up the day job.
Well, the celebrities are just lining up to appear on 'Born In England'. The first to lend his vocal support is your friend and ours, Jimmy Nesbitt, famed 'Cold Feet', 'Bloody Sunday', 'Murphy's Law' and Yellow Pages advert thesp and all-round top bloke. Jimmy couldn't get to our London studios so we had to go to him. The Breakfast Show's Chris Smith explains all.
"We had to make a mercy dash to Edinburgh yesterday so Jimmy Nesbitt... the actor... could make his contribution to 'Born in England'.
"Jimmy's staying in a very palatial flat in a posh bit of town, while he films 'Quite Ugly One Morning' for ITV. But he has bit of a schedule gap yesterday, which we were able to fill by leaving the show at half eight, and jumping an early flight up North with the song's uber-producer Ben Georgiades and his magic laptop.
"So, despite being quite categorically not born anywhere near England, Sir James is our first celebrity vocalist. He really gave it his all, and liked the song so much that he got straight on his mobile afterwards to try and drum up some more showbiz support."
