X-clusive: Richard Bacon Returns To Xfm

We are proud to announce that Capital Radio’s current drive-time presenter, the mighty Richard Bacon will be making his return to Xfm later this year to helm an all new drive-time show.

Okay, this is a rather special one. GCap Media today announced exciting changes to its drive-time shows on both Xfm and Capital Radio. In a move which highlights the company’s love of developing and retaining quality talent, Capital Radio’s current drive-time presenter Richard Bacon will return to Xfm while Xfm’s Lucio will become the new voice of Capital Radio’s drive-time show. 

Richard Bacon first started out with Xfm in 2003
presenting his Sunday Show followed by 18 months on the Xfm Friday Drivetime Show before moving across to Capital Radio in May 2005 to front the ‘Go Home Show’. 

Gold Sony Award winner Lucio however, joined Xfm London as the weekend breakfast show presenter this July before moving to the Drivetime show in October, and there he’s delivered some amazing listening figures and produced some incredible radio.

Xfm Programme Director Andy Ashton has said in a statement:

“We’re delighted at the prospect of Richard Bacon returning to Xfm. Richard’s previous shows for Xfm were a huge success and he is still very much part of the family.

“We are also extremely proud of Lucio for whom this new appointment is well deserved following a storming year of development at Xfm.”

Richard Bacon himself has added, “I have enjoyed my time at Capital, but I am looking forward to a return to my radio home at Xfm.”

The switch is scheduled to happen sometime during August, but keep checking Xfm Online for more details in the coming weeks.
