Watch Saturday Night at Xfm's Winter Wonderland 2005
It seems like a lifetime ago but it was only a few months that Xfm's Winter Wonderland played host to some of the hottest acts of 2005 and, indeed, 2006. From Rock School winners The Flaming Monkeys to the all conquering Kaiser Chiefs both nights rocked. Watch all the highlights here.

Flaming Monkeys

Rock School winners The Flaming Monkeys (pictured right with Lauren) won the opportunity to open the 2005 Winter Wonderland and they did not waste the opportunity, check out their version of Led Zep's 'Rock And Roll' right here.
Magnet

[Broadband]
Magnet aka Evan Johansen delivers a set of ethereal beauty. The first of the night's acoustic sets sees the delay pedal as weapon of choice and the endless loops that drive the set are once haunting and strangely uplifting. Utterly stunning.
The Editors

[Broadband]
Playing just at the point where they were about to become massive, the endless touring had already turned Editors into a fearsome live prospect that adds colour to their monochrome presentation and in Chris Urbanowicz possess a guitar hero for the age.
The Kooks

[Broadband]
Back in December, The Kooks were another band who were yet to breakthrough, now their debut album is ensconced in the top 10 and they've had their first top 10 hit with 'Naive'. The band played a short but lovely acoustic set that highlights their rather nifty grasp of melodic songwriting and features live favourite 'Sofa Song' and forthcoming single 'She Moves In Her Own Way'.
Maxïmo Park

[Broadband]
The North East's finest topped off a great year by playing the whole of their debut album 'A Certain Trigger' from start to finish. A must for all fans of the band and a testament to what a strong record it is that they manage to pull it off.
Hard-Fi

[Broadband]
At Xfm we love Hard-Fi with a passion. Watch this stunning performance from Richard Archer and co and you'll see why. A set peppered with highlights from their debut 'Stars Of CCTV' including 'Hard To Beat', 'Cash Machine', 'Tied Up Too Tight' and 'Living For The Weekend' plus their cover of The White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army'.
Chas & Dave
[Modem] |
[Broadband]
What can you say about the legendary cockney duo? Massively influential, surely there would have been no Libertines without this 70s version of Pete and Carl. Plus, could the White Stripes drums and guitar minimalism have happened without Chas & Dave's piano and bass template? We think not.
Kaiser Chiefs

[Broadband]
Kaiser Chiefs are the perfect end to an incredible evening. Having stormed the all-crucial make-or-break Saturday afternoon Glastonbury set and secured a Mercury prize nomination for ‘Employment’, they draw a veil over a memorable year with a turbo-charged set. Check out highlights ‘I Predict A Riot’, 'Oh My God', ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’ and ‘Born To Be A Dancer’.
