NME Awards Nominations Unveiled

The nominations for the NME Awards have just been announced with Radiohead leading the pack and up for five gongs, with Muse, The Darkness, The White Stripes, The Libertines and The Kings Of Leon right behind them.

Radiohead not surprisingly have the most nominations, and are up for 5 awards (‘Best UK Band’, ‘Best Single’, ‘Best Video’, ‘Best Live Band’ and ‘Best Album’.

Muse and The Darkness follow closely behind with four nominations, and both The Libertines and Kings Of Leon have three each.

The awards have been voted for by over 25,000 member of the public.

The ceremony itself takes place on February 12 at Hammersmith Palais in West London and will be hosted by television's Vernon Kay.

Other prizes to be handed out on the night include ‘Godlike Genius’, ‘F**k Me! Award For Innovation’, ‘Philip Hall Radar Award’, ‘Woman Of The Year’, ‘Man Of The Year’ and ‘Living Legend’ awards.
