Rumble Strips Live In Session

Hailing from Devon these four childhood friends make their Xfm debut with a sublime session of off-kilter yet no less sublime, life-affirming music. Listen to it right here.

Rumble Strips 'Xfm Session' [Dial-Up] [Broadband]

We are only just into the New Year and there already seems to be a glut of new bands vying for audience attention, in an industry full of imitators and generic bands the Rumble Strips can already tick the originality box. A four piece from sunny Devon, instead of the standard bass/guitar/drums setup the Rumble Strips consist of piano, drums, sax and trumpet all carried along by singer Charlie Walker's fantastic voice.

Having only been around for little over a year, the Rumble Strips are soon to release a limited double A-side single ‘No Soul/ Motorcycle’ on Transgressive Records who have previously been a launchpad label for the likes of Battle, The Subways and the Mystery Jets.

Opening the session is the fantastic current single ‘No Soul’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] a blissful, jazz infused freak out that leads perfectly into the pounding sax-fuelled rhythm of ‘Motorcycle’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] . The Rumble Strips romantic side is displayed on the epic ‘Girls and Weather’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] that features a fantastic vocal from front man Charlie whilst the brilliantly titled ‘High St Heaven’ [Dial-Up] [Broadband] brings the set to a close in fittingly joyous fashion.
