Arctic Monkeys Side Project Complete
Arctic Monkeys' frontman Alex Turner has finished recording his side project with The Rascals' guitarist Miles Kane and Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford.
Reknowned producer and DJ James Ford has revealed that he's been busy working on the new album with Turner and Kane in Paris.
Kane - who currently plays with The Rascals - befriended Turner when his previous band The Little Flames supported The Arctic Monkeys on an early tour.
Speaking of the recording experience to the BBC, Ford enthused, "It was amazing, really quick and we had fun, played ping-pong, ate cheese and drank red wine".
The new material is set to be released at the start of next year once the final touches have been added.
Ford explained that there are still some string arrangements to be completed "With a guy called Final Fantasy who does a lot of Arcade Fire strings", adding "We'll probably finish it off towards the end of the year and it'll probably be out next year. But I can still listen to it and enjoy it, which at this stage in the album making process is rare."
As for what the record sounds like Ford revealed "The stuff we were listening to was like Scott Walker and I think there are some really great songs on there.
