Jarvis Signed Up For Harry Potter Movie

If reports are to be believed, as well as featuring Franz Ferdinand, the soundtrack for the next Harry Potter film may well feature music from Ex-Pulp mainman Jarvis Cocker.
The previous Potter films were scored by John Williams ('Star Wars', 'Jaws'), however new director Mike Newell is reported to be aiming to a new generation of music fans. Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe, himself a devout Libertines fan, was apparently asked to give suggestions for acts to be approached.
Now former Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker is reported to be responsible for soundtracking the movie and picking additional artists and music for the new film 'Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire’.
This follows news that Franz Ferdinand were also asked to provide some tracks and may even be following Ian Brown with a cameo appearance in the film.
Speaking to VH1, Franz frontman Alex Kapranos explained, “We've been asked to write some music for [the film]. There's a section where there's a band of ugly sisters playing and I think, well ... Some members of Franz Ferdinand may be the ugly sisters in the band."
This wouldn't be the first time Cocker had been involved in a film soundtrack following his work on David McKenzie's ‘The Last Great Wilderness’ and in conjunction with the music videos for Sheffield's Warp Records. Cocker appeared in ‘The Last Great Wilderness’ and also sang on the soundtrack.
