New York Dolls Book Stolen At Meltdown

Following their highly anticipated reunion show last night, the New York Dolls have been the victims of theft as a lyric book with "huge sentimental value" is stolen from the stage. Playing their first show together since the Seventies, the band had reformed at the special request of festival curator Morrissey.
A spokesperson for the venue told Xfm that the lyric book belonging to the band was taken from the stage at the end of the show and due to the sentimental value of the item, they'd like it returned as quickly as possible.
The band have asked that the book is returned to the venue, and no further questions will be asked.
The line-up that appeared at London's Royal Festival Hall last night (June 16) was not the original NYD as original guitarist Johnny Thunders and drummer Jerry Nolan died in 1991. Nolan's place was taken by Libertine sticksman Gary Powell, joining original members David Johansen, Sylvain Sylvain and Arthur 'Killer' Kane for the 'command' performance.
Following a standing ovation, the group thanked Moz for the invitation, explaining that the UK has always been one of their favourite places to visit.
The New York Dolls play what is likely to be one of their final ever gigs (the only other show booked so far is with Morrissey at Manchester's Move festival in July) tomorrow night when the band play the second of their two gigs for Meltdown.
Tickets for the shows are available now from the Xfm Xchange on 0870 121 1049 or from the Xfm Online Live Gig Guide by clicking here.
